Why This Space Exists
One afternoon, two weeks after my brother died, the phone buzzed on the counter, reminding me the world still expected answers. In that moment I realized: life doesn’t stop for heartbreak—but writing can pause the noise just long enough to breathe.
I lost my brother in May, faced surgery in July, and said goodbye to my grandmother in August. In between, a regal cat named Galaxy crept into my life, and a loyal dog, Sargent, pressed his warm head against my knee whenever the silence felt too heavy.
The World Won’t Pause is where I keep those moments. It’s a journal of pauses—big and small—when the world kept moving, and the people (and animals) who helped me move with it.

A Recent Pause That Changed Me
“I thought I was rescuing a single cat. Instead, five kittens arrived in my lap at 10 a.m., sunlight everywhere, reminding me life still wakes up even on the hardest days.”
